Hi Everyone! I wanted to take an opportunity to share with you some amazing books I have read in my years as a Christian. There are so many wonderful books, it is hard to pick just 3! However, if you had to only pick three books to read during your Christian life, I would suggest the following (Minus the Bible of course… that should be a given) 😉
# 1- My utmost for His highest by Oswald Chambers. This one is a phenomenal devotional book and is well known. Despite popular belief however; Oswald Chambers himself didn’t actually compile this book. Here is a fun fact: Oswald’s widow, Biddy Chambers compiled his well-known sermons, teachings, articles, and documents into the book we know today as a daily devotional. Nonetheless, Oswald was definitely inspired by God to bring these teachings to the public, and I am thankful that they are compiled together.
#2- The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. C.S Lewis may be well-known for his Narnia series written for children. However, C.S. Lewis wrote many other amazing books. Most notable was his book called The Screwtape Letters. In this book, there are two main characters. Satan and wormwood (one of his demons). Now, Satan has an ongoing dialogue with wormwood about how to take down Christians. The book is well-renown and definitely worth a read. It sheds a light on some of the enemies tactics toward us and how we can combat them.
#3 Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan. Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan is an interesting allegory of the Christian life and our journey to heaven.
