I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High. Psalms 7:17
Sometimes giving thanks to God when everything is in chaos is difficult to do. Recently, I have had to take an inventory of my many blessings in my life. Dealing with losing so much recently, this has been very difficult to do. However, I narrowed it down to some of my top blessings. Among them include my loving family, my church family, and my health.
David was continuing to have distress from his enemies, but he also gave God a chance to show him if he had done anything to repent of. He asked for either rebuke or vindication. God comes to everyone in a different way, and during our times of extreme duress, it is hardest to see him. One thing I have learned is to try and find where God is among everything you are feeling and dealing with at any given time and then allow him to meet you where you are.
I will leave you with a departing song, and remember that HIS love indeed does endure forever, no matter our trials.
